Uno di miei canali preferiti è sicuramente Gambero Rosso Channel, dove posso degustare, almeno con gli occhi, piatti succulenti e pietanze appetitose ogni volta che voglio. A dispetto delle mie origini però, i programmi che amo di più non sono quelli made in Italy, bensì quelli di provenienza anglosassone sia per i loro format molto più glamour di quelli nostrani che per il modo di vivere la cucina, decisamente in maniera più semplice e accessibile (forse, per quanto riguarda la qualità dei piatti, rimango ancora fedele alla tradizione del Bel Paese!).

Nonostante la regina incontrastata del mio teleschermo rimanga sempre Nigella, da qualche tempo sto seguendo una new entry del canale, Lorraine Pascale, ex supermodel con 15 anni di esperienza in cucina e prestigiose consulenze in famosi ristoranti. Con il suo libro ‘Baking Made Easy’ ha conquistato il pubblico inglese ed è diventata la beniamina della cucina in TV, grazie alla sua abilità di creare piatti speciali con tecniche semplicissime. Staremo a vedere se alla fine della stagione si sarà davvero meritata lo scettro di ‘The queen of TV cookery’ che le ha attribuito l’autorevole The Times.

One of my favorite TV channels is without a doubt the Gambero Rosso Channel, where I can enjoy, at least with my eyes, succulent foods and mouth-watering dishes whenever I want. In spite of my origins, however, the programs I love more than those made in Italy, are those of Anglo-Saxon origin because their format has much more glamour than our own way of life in the kitchen, much more simple, and much more accessible (perhaps, in regards to the quality of the dishes, I am still faithful to the tradition of Bel Paese!).

Even though the undisputed queen of my television screen remains Nigella, I’ve been following a new star of the channel – Lorraine Pascale, a former supermodel with 15 years of cooking experience and a prestigious consultant for famous restaurants. With her book ‘Baking Made Easy,’ she won over the British public and became the darling of the cooking show, thanks to her ability to create special dishes with simple techniques. We’ll see by the end of the season if she truly deserves to be crowned ‘The Queen of TV Cookery’ as designated by the influential newspaper The Times.
